Online Computer Science Masters Degree Programs - Online Masters Degrees

Applicants wishing to enroll in an online master’s degree in Computer Science must have at least a 3.2 GPA average or preferably higher in their undergraduate studies. Applicants not having bachelors in computer science must have sufficient knowledge of computer programming, algorithms and data structures and theory of computation.

A master’s degree certifies that the graduate has a diversified know-how of computer science as a discipline, and students have studied in and gained proficiency in a particular field and have mastered a specific specialty. Results and course work is carried out electronically, and exams are conducted under adequately controlled conditions at the student’s site. Students are encouraged to interact between themselves and fellow students. Courses have the same content as on campus classes, and are usually recorded versions, with identical requirements as experienced by regular on campus students.

The script on the degree only indicates the “Master of Computer Science “regardless of whether the student attends on campus or whether the student earns it through distance learning.

The only difference in the on-campus and an online master’s degree in Computer Science is that online students are not required attending colloquia; instead they must register for the DE section of the Computer science orientation course. This also includes a selection of research presentations.
